The Neurolearning Dyslexia Screening App quickly and accurately lets users ages 7 to adult screen themselves for signs of the thinking and processing traits associated with dyslexia.
Individuals with dyslexia typically struggle with reading and/or spelling. These difficulties arise from differences in the ways their brains process certain kinds of information. The Neurolearning Dyslexia Screening App works by measuring several key brain functions underlying reading and spelling skills, which function differently in individuals with dyslexia. It combines these measures with an assessment of current reading skills to provide an assessment of the likelihood that the test user is experiencing challenges at school or work related to dyslexia.
The Neurolearning Dyslexia Screening App provides users with a detailed and individualized report of their results. This report includes:
--an explanation of the overall likelihood that any problems they are experiencing with reading and spelling are related to dyslexia
--recommendations on when further professional assessment is needed
--an explanation of the key processing areas that may be contributing to their dyslexia-related challenges
--a detailed set of individualized recommendations outlining steps that can be taken to improve performance and limit challenges at school or work
--a detailed list of resources that can be used to implement the recommendations
The assessment process used by the Neurolearning Dyslexia Screening App was developed by Drs. Brock and Fernette Eide, leading experts on dyslexia and dyslexia assessment, to resemble the process they personally have used to screen thousands of children for dyslexia. In addition to their extensive clinical experience, the Eides are frequent invited lecturers at conferences and meetings around the world, have been visiting lecturers at leading schools of education including Stanford University and Hunter College, and are the co-authors of the internationally best-selling book, "The Dyslexic Advantage". The Neurolearning Dyslexia Screening App's scoring system was developed and validated with over 800 dyslexia and nondyslexic volunteers using a process of expert risk assessment to develop a system of scoring metrices overseen by psychometrician Dr. Mark Moulton of Educational Data Systems, who specializes in the development of psychometric assessment.
